Do you want to make your children happy?
Proverbs 3:13-18 (NKJV) Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding.
I love the fact that a man who finds wisdom is happy. I’m less thrilled that the boy LOOKING for wisdom may be less than happy
Keep up the good work, though. Homeschooling can be difficult, and rarely do our children say “thank you.” But the fruits of our labor will lead to our children’s happiness, and all parents want their children to be happy, right?
Wouldn’t it be great if when we hear complaining, we could just say “Are you happy yet?” and have everything be peaceful again! I’m pretty sure that won’t work. But it’s still a promise that I love holding on to!

Yes, indeed, there are days when I want to burn those magazines depicting perfect Proverbs-quoting homeschool families all smiling in the matching school uniforms they sewed themselves! Then there are the blissful days when we’re outside learning how everything we see has a role to play in God’s creation. What a contrast! On the bad days, I need to step back and look at the whole picture. Overall, we have seen this promise play out over time. We have our ups and downs, but the overall trend is up. There’s God at work.
