Be Strong in Wisdom AND the Spirit

August 8, 2009

Stephen was strong, wise, and full of the Spirit.  We can learn a lot from the first martyr.  Here is what the Bible says:

“These men began to argue with Stephen, but they could not stand up against his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he spoke.” Acts 6:9-10

Standing up against society is difficult.  Stephen’s witness is so strong because he stood up against society using both wisdom and the Holy Spirit – not just one or the other.  Wisdom and faith go hand in hand, working together.  When homeschooling, it’s important to remembers to teach values, worldview, and Biblical literacy.  It’s also very important to teach wisdom, so that our children can stand up before society and be a great witness for others, filled with both wisdom AND the Spirit.

Thank you for that. It’s funny that you wrote about Stephen. I was just reading the free book from VOM called “Torchered For Christ.”

    Blessings to you!
