I love hearing back from parents with graduates! I love hearing about her successes with the National Merit Finalist, college admission, and full scholarships. Here is what Andrea wrote:

I have learned so much over these past couple of years and appreciate so much the help your Gold Care Club has been.

My oldest son, Adam, just graduated and is going to be attending Auburn University this fall with scholarships that will more than equal a full ride!! Most of the scholarships are a direct result of his being a National Merit Finalist. Thanks so much for the help you gave in sending me information via email about the forms needed in that application process. It was an online process this year, but the information was pretty much just what you explained. Knowing that information ahead of time was very helpful for us as we functioned as the teacher and the counselor and the principal. I might join up again at a later date if needed, but I really feel that the courses I’ve listened to and the articles that I have read over the past couple of years have prepared me well to handle the transcript and college application process for my other kids when the time comes.

The information from your website, blogs, Gold Care Club, webinars and DVD’s have been very helpful for us in planning for high school and college! Whenever I am asked questions about doing high school at home, I generally always direct people to check out your website.

And yes, I am much more confident with my younger ones and my daughter who just finished her sophomore year even had a transcript as a Freshman. Adam’s didn’t happen until the end of his Junior year- yikes!

Thanks again!

Blessings,

Andrea

Even more than admission and scholarship, I love Andrea’s confidence. And look! With that amazing 20/20 hindsight, with her second child she had the transcript ready after Freshman year. Awesome!

I have created a series of videos on creating great homeschool records for college. You can find them here.

Thank you, Sue, for sharing your experience!

Even though I am in the field of education, finding a plan for homeschooling high school and preparing good college transcripts was not easy. Then I came across Lee’s website and everything changed.

I first purchased the “Total Transcript Solution” program to help me organize and plan my 10th grade daughter’s transcripts. Lee added so many bonuses and articles which helped me in the whole process so that* I now have an entire high school template to keep our homeschooling on track.*The best part was the free month of weekly one-on-one calls where she gave advice and actually critiqued my working drafts.

I then purchased the “Comprehensive Records Solution” and discovered so many ways to enhance my daughter’s transcript. We now work together and actually prepare classes and projects to showcase her special talents in the field in which she wants to study. Without the attention to details found in the comprehensive programs she wouldn’t be as appealing to her college as she looks now. I also felt so strongly in the need for Lee’s programs and services for homeschool parents, just like me, that I shared them with my local homeschool group.

Lastly, I joined the “Gold Care Club” and can’t wait for my weekly discussion with Lee. I now feel confident that my daughter will have the necessary transcripts for graduating high school as well as the crucial transcripts for getting into the college of her choice.

The HomeScholar Gold Care Club is my exclusive homeschool membership site that provides training, tools and one-on-one coaching to help you homeschool high school with excellence. Why do you need to be a member? The answer is easy – because what you need is an experienced expert who can bring perspective to your problems; save you time, money and mistakes; and help you do things you might not accomplish in a million years on your own. The benefit I bring to my clients is less a function of what I know than it is a function of how I apply this knowledge to your particular situation.

That’s it in a nutshell.

I hear it all. See if these worries sound familiar:

Can my child get into college?

Can she get good scholarships?

How can I provide opportunities for his future?

How do we apply to college?

What do I do first?

If you are confused with the whole process, and don’t even know what to do first, please contact me for an appointment or join the Gold Care Club for ongoing support. You don’t have to be alone! With the Gold Care Club, it really doesn’t matter what the issues are, you can get answers. I spend a lot of time pointing people in the right direction, forwarding articles, links, and classes. I have a wide variety of resources available for Gold Care Club members, and I would love to help you too!

Have you done everything that needs to be done to provide a college prep education? Do you know the steps for college admission and scholarships? Instead of worrying about it, DO something about it. Seek out the resources that will help you. The HomeScholar Gold Care Club.

There are certainly some challenging things that can happen to homeschoolers. One of the biggest challenges is a child that wants to go to public school. Nobody will have the answer for you, and nobody can solve this problem. It’s something you just have to work through – and pray over. If you are in the midst of the struggle, I can consult with you on the phone if you are a Gold Care Club member. This is a topic that does best with conversation, so I can understand the situation and the child better. Sometimes I surprise myself with the things I will recommend once I get to know the situation better. However, I can suggest some things to consider.

Kids are who they are, and homeschooling will not force them to be unsocialized anymore than public school can force all children into becoming out-going socialites.

Is homeschooling working for you? I’m not asking if it’s perfect, because no school will ever be perfect. I’m only asking if it’s working! Are your kids progressing through subjects, learning things, doing things?

Don’t ask yourself if something else MIGHT work better, because you don’t know for sure if the grass is really greener somewhere else. You only know your own homeschool. Is it working? If it’s working, don’t stop!

Parents make decisions, not children.

Children don’t change completely when they change schools. They are still the same person with the same weaknesses and struggles.

When a child grows up, and becomes adult, sometimes changes are needed. This may be a situation where an alternative may be appropriate. Read my article on the Community College Fad and learn about CollegePlus! Although neither option is perfect for everyone, one of those options may be helpful to you now.

Involve your child is planning the year. Include delight-directed learning, and make sure curriculum choices fit your CHILD rather than you, the teacher.

If he feels stifled, the solution may be work. The best way to experience the world is to WORK in the world, not go to school with age-segregated people. That’s not at all what the real world is like. Can your child get employment and have a real job with others?

If you are dealing with a young man, you might enjoy my husband’s article on Raising Men. We also have a YouTube on the topic of Raising Men.

I hope that helps! If you want some support, consider becoming a Gold Care Club Member so we can talk together for 20 minutes each week when you have concerns.

Where will you be four years from now? Will you experience post-homeschool success? These notes from other real homeschool parents are SURE to encourage you!

Encouragement from Ann in Connecticut

Just a short note of encouragement – two years ago, I was just where you are. I had purchased the Total Transcript Solution, as I knew I had to prepare transcripts for college admission, and my son had taken the SAT, but I knew NOTHING about what I should be doing to prepare for college admissions.

Toward the end of my month-long free subscription to the Gold Care Club, I contacted Lee with a question about the SAT – figured I may as well use it at least once before it expired!

To make a long story short, I decided to extend my subscription to Gold Care Club, learned loads about junior year and homeschooling high school through the Club and Lee’s other materials, and was able to prepare a transcript, go to a college fair, visit colleges, and finish my course descriptions by the beginning of senior year.

Having Lee to advise you and hold your hand as you navigate the process will ensure success, as long as you do your part.

She’s helped me with two boys now, and both have been accepted to the colleges of their choice with scholarships at each one (though we are still waiting to hear on a few this year).

I encourage you to learn all you can from Lee’s materials and take advantage of all the support she has for you for this year–you CAN do it! I felt just like you two years ago!

Encouragement from Molly in Washington

So far, Hannah has been accepted to George Fox University with a $10,000 a year scholarship, and we just received news that she’s been accepted to Seattle Pacific University with the Trustees’ Award scholarship for $14,000 a year! We are so excited.

Many years ago we committed our little school to God, and look what He has done. A big thank you to you for being used by Him to help enable this to happen, and to many others who have been there along the way.
~ Molly on Whidbey Island, Washington

Encouragement from Nola-ann in South Africa

Dear Lee, Thank you so much. I continue to look forward to you emails and encouragement. We have registered our eldest daughter with a formal distance learning college through Cambridge University. The academic manager sent me a letter commending me on ‘*the most outstanding homeschool transcript I have ever seen*’. And this credit has to be shared with yourself, THANK YOU!!

I was rather taken aback when the commendation came from the British International Distance College here in South Africa with their reply. A resounding yes was their reply – also based on a transcript from your library. God Bless you with your endeavours to encourage homeschooling across the world!
Kind regards,

“Lee- Just bought and watched your Big Scholarships DVD. Wow! Thank you SO much! My son watched it with me and he’s super motivated now. That video and your help are worth their weight in gold! Anyone with any doubts about purchasing this one, no need to doubt.

I’m purchasing my tickets to The MidWest Homeschool Convention now, and I’m wondering who I will get to see there! Please come and see me at the Homeschool Convention in Cincinnati March 31-April 2. If you register now, you will get a discount on admission. I would love to meet you, talk with you, and answer your questions in person, face-to-face.

The MidWest Homeschool Convention is HUGE with more speakers and vendors than just about any other convention. Some of my friends will share a hotel room with friends, and carpool to make it a fun weekend away. It’s a great way to renew and refresh. Plus, with this size of convention, it doesn’t matter how many children you have, or what age they are, you are bound to find support and products that are perfect for your homeschool!

You can read more about the MidWest Homeschool Convention here: www.cincinnatihomeschoolconvention.com.

If you live in the West, I’ll be speaking at the Washington Homeschool Organization Convention. This convention is the largest homeschool convention west of the Mississippi! So West coast friends, please come and see me at the Washington Homeschool Organization Convention June 17-18. Make sure it’s on your calendar, and I’ll see you there. You can read more about the Washington Homeschool Organization Convention here: www.washhomeschool.org. Please come and meet me!

If you live overseas, my Gold Care Club is a wonderful way to get the support you need, and it’s available 24/7. No matter what time zone you live in, it’s always convenient. Don’t feel alone – I’m there for you even if you are military, missionary, or overseas. You can read more about the Gold Care Club here: www.thehomescholar.com/gold-care.php

If you are disappointed that I’m not at YOUR convention, it’s easy to fix that problem! Just request that they ask me to speak to your convention NEXT year, and I’ll be glad to come!

Lisa Baughn wrote a review of myTotal Transcript Solution.
There are! No matter WHERE you live!

If you are longing for a good conference about junior high and high school issues, I have great news! Did you know that is what my Gold Care Club is all about? When I go to conventions and support groups, my husband films me speaking. He puts all of those speeches on the Gold Care Club website. There are 5 classes running constantly online, and those classes change every month. There is also a live webinar and a recorded webinar each month. All these classes are excellent for people who are beginning to think about high school, and also for parents that are desperately trying to finish things up before their student graduates in just a few months!

If you are longing for a conference, why don’t you join now? The 5 classes that are currently online are:

Quick Start: Keys to High School Success

Beginner: Preparing to Homeschool High School – Hour 4

Intermediate: Find the Perfect College

Advanced: College Scholarships for High School Credit

Encouragement: 10 Strategies for Homeschool Success

Live Webinar: Giving Gifts that Pay for College!

Recorded Webinar: College Application Essays – a Primer for Parents

There are other benefits as well, but if what you need are classes, this might just fit the bill!

By the way, I am having a Gold Care Club webinar this Tuesday, 11/16 at 4PM Pacific Time. The topic is “Giving Gifts that Pay for College.” These webinars are normally just for my Gold Care Club members, but I decided to open this month’s webinar to everyone. Please feel free to invite your friends to this presentation. I will also be answering your high school questions at the end.

Reserve your webinar seat here:

It’s nice to hear stories from parents who have been where you are, but have now graduated a student. Have they ruined their children’s lives? Have the missed out on college admission or scholarships? Hardly! Mostly I hear stories that I call “Shock and Awe!” Parents write to me and confess the wonderful results of homeschooling high school. The most common feelings when high school is over? Shock that it worked, and Awe at the admission and scholarship results! Here is an example from a letter I received last week from a long-time Gold Care Club member.

Hi Lee,

I am taking a few moments to write to you before we send Jacob off to college on Sunday. I was doing fine with Jacob going off to college until this past Saturday when I was grocery shopping and lost it when I was buying bananas! I know that sounds a little “bananas” but I realized at that moment that Jacob is the only person besides me who likes bananas in our family and that next week I won’t be grocery shopping for him. I thought my heart would break! Fortunately, I cracked my husband up telling him the story so I only cried for a few hours:( Okay, on to my effusive thank you note!

Lee when I found your website and materials it was such a blessing! I had been struggling to create a transcript using some pretty expensive software and was just not having much success. From the very first time I spoke with you my anxiety level decreased immensely and I was able to create a beautiful document that accurately reflected Jacob’s accomplishments. Jacobwas especially grateful that you suggest I give him a computer programming credit for the sudoku problem-solving program and website he developed:) He certainly deserved it but I wasn’t looking “outside of the box.”

When we went on college visits I took his transcript with us and there was never anything but praise from the college admissions counselors. Jacob was ultimately admitted to the five schools he applied to and received scholarship
offers from every school. Since Jacob was named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist he was awarded a 4-year full tuition scholarship to The Ohio State University (Honors Program) where he ultimately decided to attend. He will major in their computer science engineering program.

I hope that other parents who are considering homeschooling high school will realize that it can be done! I know when we were contemplating doing it one of my greatest fears was that I would mess up his life forever and he would not have the opportunities that other students would have. Well that was just simply wrong! Jacob was able to study at his own pace and accomplish quite a bit along the way:) I also feel that I was able to spend precious time with my son that was and will continue to be a blessing for our entire family. That isn’t to say that there weren’t hard days (weeks, months even!) but we persevered and grew so much along the way!

I can’t thank you enough for helping me pull it all together and cheering us across the finish line! I know we’ll continue to be in contact over the next two years as Sara begins the process of applying to the military academies. That will be an entirely different experience but I am sure with your materials and support it will be much easier:)

Thanks for everything!
