If you have family members who disapprove of homeschooling, sometimes that means the cry of your heart is “don’t let me mess up! People are watching!” King David knew how we feel! Listen to his cry in Psalm 25: 2
“Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.”
There is a solution – a solution with a promise, in verse 3.
“No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame”
Focus on the Lord, and have hope in him. Don’t worry about receiving shame from others, but do what is right for your family.

I’ve cut “convincing others” out of my job description. “Homeschool mom” is enough work as it is.
I mess up. In fact, right now, we’re taking a 10-minute break from school so that we all can de-stress from a situation that was starting to deteriorate. We will re-convene to talk about this, and I’ll own up to my end of things. This is probably one of the few lessons that will stick with my kids today.
