What better way to encourage techie kids to read! Nintendo DS is now an E-Reader!
I saw this on the news, and it looks like a great way to encourage kids to read using modern technology. As the mother of an electrical engineer, I can tell you that I often felt Kevin was hard-wired to enjoy wired toys. He loved to read, but he would have loved to read even MORE if he were using something techie. Even kids who don’t love reading might be lured into literature with the help of a gadget.
Nintendo offers a game pack that isn’t a game at all, it’s a personal library of literature called “100 Classic Books.”
100 Classic Books is the unique release from Nintendo that transforms the Nintendo DS family of handheld video game system into a library of timeless English literature. Compatible with DS, DS Lite and DSi models it is filled with 100 classic works from English literature, highlighted by works from authors such as William Shakespeare, Jules Verne, Jane Austen, Mark Twain and more. Additional features include the ability to adjust the size of text, place virtual bookmarks and even download new content via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service (broadband Internet connection required).
I think it sounds like fun! My husband is loving his Kindle, and it’s just about the same thing.
Go, techies, go!

Dear Audrey,
Dear Audrey,
The blog post was online at about 7:30 in the morning, and we also mentioned the webinar in yesterday’s blog post. The delay is because you have the blog posts delivered via email, and there is a delay when it’s delivered by email. I can’t control that, though – I can only control what time I post the blog each morning. I’m really sorry you missed it, though!
Blessings,
Lee
