How do you assign a grade to Work Experience? Also, my son recently took an aptitude test; scored a superior in Business and Numerical categories. Is this something I could put on his transcript?
You can see what I did myself on the “Comprehensive Record Solution.” In general, I decided to grade it like everything else that didn’t have tests. First I divided it up into all the different ways I evaluated him. For work experience, that meant every small task that he did: filing, answering the phone, writing for the paper, computer skills, and that sort of thing. When he met my expectations, I gave him 100% for each of the things I evaluated. So I did give him a 4.0 for “Occupational Education” on his transcript.
I am not familiar with the test that includes business and numerical measures. I don’t think I would include that as an actual “course” on your transcript. You can use all those data points for grades on your OTHER courses, though. So for example, it may be a portion of his math grade, or in his economics (business) grade. That test would be one way that you evaluated him, and since he scored a superior, that grade would be a 4.0, in my book.
