Wow, thank you for that. My husband and I just listened to it. I wouldn’t mind reading more about this subject. Our oldest is 13.

“I think it might vary from girl to girl, but generally us girls might want to get out from under Mom’s wing from time to time. It’s our way of easing into the real world. I’d say let us test the waters by letting us try to think through and solve problems first, then we’ll lean on you if we need help. We need to explore our boundaries, find our passions, and pursue them.”

From a growing girl who’s almost in the 13-18 year old category. She’s read Shanti Feldhahn’s book _For Women Only_ (her own idea), and loved the movie “Fireproof.”

My third son is now in this power struggle time. We noticed it with the older two sons beginning around age 12. You did a great job explaining what is going on during this time. I always described it as “their grumpy time” (the boys, that is, not my husband…though he gets a little grumpy too during it). And I didn’t really understand the thought process going on in their heads with it. I just noticed a change. I think my husband gets it though. I can’t wait to have my husband see this. I am sure he will enjoy it too–very good info!! Thank you!
