Spelling for Dyslexia

My girlfriend has children with dyslexia.  She tells me the best program is always the THIRD spelling program you try!  Because by that time you begin to figure out your child and understand the problem better!  She recommends Sequential Spelling – it was the third (and final) spelling program she tried.

Recently I’ve been hearing about a new program that works well with my clients.  Have you heard about All About Spelling yet? It might be a good match for you.  It is multisensory, approaching spelling through sight, sound, and touch.  The lesson plans are easy to use and leave nothing out. Plus, I’ve spoken to homeschool parents that say it works!

In fact, I like this spelling program so much that I signed up to become an affiliate! You can check it out here: www.allaboutspelling.com/homescholar

    Hi, Lee!

I can attest that All About Spelling is a fantastic program. I am using it with my 9 year old son who has some minor learning issues, and he is actually starting to be able to spell! We are halfway through Level 2, and I have to say that the program is very carefully laid out to build their spelling skills step-by-step. Also, because there is review built into the program, I’m finding that my son retains how to spell the words he’s learned over time.

    Great program!!!

I agree! We used the program through Level 4. Then we had to wait about 5 months for Level 5 to be ready and during that time, we had some life changes that made it impossible to use anymore – because I went back to work fulltime and no longer have the time to dedicate to a program like this. But I believe it made a big difference with my LD son and really helped his reading and spelling!

Oh, and I am an affiliate, too! :)

My 15 year old daughter has ALWAYS struggled with spelling. We’ve tried so many different things, but nothing has seemed to help her. Now that she’s older it’s even harder because most spelling programs either feel geared toward younger students or else they’re awfully dry. I stumbled upon “Apples Daily Spelling Drills for Secondary Students” this year, and for the first time I’m actually noticing a real change in her spelling. She just spends about 10 minutes each day on the lesson, and all I do is look over the book from time to time to make sure she’s keeping up.
