The Frantic Plumber Song

April 26, 2009

I thought I would take a break from our usual serious fare and share with you a brief YouTube we made this past winter.  The boys were back from college and I we had our cousins over for a visit.  We decided to have some fun and make a video of one of our family’s funniest homeschool memories.  It is a little drama (trauma?) we call “The Frantic Plumber Song”.  I hope you enjoy!

There was an article about chess in the Seattle paper today. Here is the link:
    http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/living/2009119896_chess25m.html
In the article I read this sentence, “For almost half an hour, there is hardly any sound but the clink of chess pieces”. It made my hair curl and my palms sweat. The sound still drives me crazy, even when I see a description of the sound in print, LOL!!! Poor Kevin! He has taken to playing chess online now, so that’s a big improvement for me :-)

This video was extra hilarious for me because my oldest son plays chess (and reads and does computer stuff, etc etc) and keeps putting me off for “just a minute” EXACTLY like your son! And then, the blond boy with glasses walks in and starts playing the EXACT same piece that my blond boy with glasses plays! What a riot! Thanks for sharing!

    Lisa,
Are you serious??? First of all, as much as I love my children and all…. I’m really sorry about the piano, the piano piece, and the chess, LOL! Isn’t that amazingly similar, though? Wow! It’s my older son Kevin playing chess, and my younger son (and personal economist) Alex is on the piano. That’s so amazing!
    Blessings,
    Lee

I am serious! There is a difference though, which is my kids are about 4-5 years younger than yours; I hope my youngest plays that piece as well as Alex in a few years! He’ll be taking his piano exams next year at about Level 3 or 4, his teacher said. Elliot, my oldest, is the inventor… always half in another world!
    Bless you!

    Lee,

My boys and I enjoyed this! They love making videos themselves and have put several on youtube. Fun! Did this really happen to you all at one point? My boys like chess as well…..but your home is far neater than mine has ever been since having children. :)

This was great! I looked at some of the other vides – my very personal favorites are I Will Survive and The 14 Days of Homeschooling. Awesome! Inspirational!

Thanks so much! May God continue to bless you.

Same situation, different hobbies. My son plays electric guitar and World of Warfare(somewhat like chess with different characters) I have daughters, too, who will do the “just a second mom or hold on”. I am new to home schooling and we are still learning the ins and outs.
