Games
Games are a BIG in our family, especially at Christmas. Our family tradition is to buy a new board game each year. Christmas Day, we all play together! In fact, the day after Christmas, when I go out shopping sales with my mother, the boys will still be playing board games with their father! Here are some of our absolute favorites! Our Favorite Teaching Company Lectures
Beyond games, remember to feed their passion! Sheet music, musical instruments, books in their interest area. My son Kevin loves history, especially military history. One year for Christmas we gave him the Teaching Company course on Russian History. He STILL won't let me sell it! He loved it, listened to it for fun, learned a lot - and ultimately I put it on his high school transcript. Gifts that Will Help you Cope
Finally, parents may welcome gifts that help them cope with the demands of homeschooling. Here are some books that I used during the years of homeschooling. Let's just call these my Homeschool Survival Tips! The Gifts that Started it All!
It can be hard to identify the one gift that reveals the passion and purpose in your childrens' lives. We were lucky enough to be able to pin-point the exact moment that God "lit the fire" in both of our kids. It was these two gifts that struck the match! Gifts for the Homebased Business
If your family has a home-based business, I highly recommend Steve Beck's course called "8 Weeks to Profits." His course has really helped us with the technical aspects of buying, selling, serving, and running our home based business.
Finally, Gifts to help you Homeschool High School!
Beyond gifts that are educational and gifts that are fun, consider giving gifts to your spouse! Christmas is a great time to give the gift of Parent Education Courses.

In my work helping homeschool families, I have frequently been asked for a copy of my children's Comprehensive Record. In books currently on the market, you might find one or two course descriptions from an individual parent. What you'll never see is one child's records from beginning to end, exactly as they were submitted to a college. That's what this Homeschool Comprehensive Record is all about.
Other than removing names, this is exactly the same document in the same format that I submitted to colleges when my son applied.
My children were admitted to all of the colleges where they applied, and were given great scholarships from each college, including four-year, full-tuition scholarships from their first choice university.

In her e-book "The Easy Truth About Homeschool Transcripts," Lee tells you exactly how she did it. You'll learn:
- What colleges really want from homeschool applicants.
- How to assign grades and award credits in a way colleges will respect and believe.
- How to feel comfortable and confident in your ability to impress the colleges.
- What to include on a homeschool transcript,
- How to name your classes.
Lee also addresses how to plan a college prep education, so that your student is well prepared whether they go to college or not. She teaches you how to capture "delight directed learning," that is, learning that is less structured and perhaps without formal curriculum. If you've ever wondered how to capture your students passionate interest in an "unusual" subject, this is definitely the book for you.
Lee's easy, conversational style will help you master the steps necessary to translate 4 years of homeschooling into a high school transcript that will perfectly capture your homeschool and impress the colleges.
Lee also discusses the strategy she used to help her children earn college credit while in high school, and then, how to reflect that credit onto their high school transcript. Never lost is the focus that homeschooling high school is about more than just grades and credits. It is about building adults with knowledge, wisdom and character.Creating great transcripts does not require expensive software, co-ops or accreditation agencies. Neither do you need to use Alt-Ed or Certified Teachers.
This amazing, one-of-a-kind product will encourage and empower you as you homeschool your children through high school.
