Lee Binz Speaker Bio
Lee Binz and her husband Matt operate The HomeScholar (www.TheHomeScholar.com). Their mission is "helping parents homeschool high school." Lee and Matt homeschooled their two children independently for eight years, from elementary through high school graduation. Both boys earned full-tuition scholarships to their first choice university. Lee is now a homeschool consultant working with parents across the country and overseas. Lee has three core beliefs about homeschooling: homeschooling provides the best possible learning environment; every child deserves a college-prep education whether or not they choose to go to college; and parents are capable of providing a superior education to their children. Lee does not judge your homeschool or evaluate your children. Instead, she comes alongside to help and encourage parents homeschooling high school.

Your presentation was great!! Even though we've gotten one son into college, I gained quite a bit of new information from your presentation that I will be able to use for our younger kids. Your sample transcript and explanation of it were very helpful (especially since it was for a chess player!). The comparison of the tests was a lot of new information for me, and your comparison chart is very handy. The HomeScholar Planning Guide is great because it has just about everything (classes, tests, etc.) on one easy-to-use page! Real live samples, like the sample Course Description and Grades and Credits Resource sheet, really clarify things and give homeschoolers a starting point in creating their own, which is very helpful! The "Record Keeping" section of your presentation was very good too! I'm a Cubbie, and have a pretty good handle on record keeping, but I liked your helpful hints. This topic and the way you presented it would be extremely useful for parents new to homeschooling high school. I enjoyed your engaging manner of speaking, and was impressed by your knowledge and insights. Basically, everything was excellent, and the freebies and raffles added that extra special touch! Thank you so much for coming to Vancouver to share with us! God bless you!

Hi Lee! I really enjoyed it when you came to speak during the H.O.M.E. meeting a couple of months ago. I felt a little calmer (my daughter is starting 9th Grade this year) after hearing your take on things. Thanks for all of your info and encouragement!!!

I just wanted to let you know that Ben (and I) really enjoyed your talk at the homeschool college fair. I wish that we could have stayed for the last one as well. We are all curious as to which school was 'college A.' Also, let your husband know that I really liked his write up on the Incredibles.

Lee Binz spoke on high school level testing and did a great job! I was very impressed with her speaking abilities. I have know Lee for years and she recently started a home business where she helps [create] transcripts for high schoolers. I highly recommend her. I'm sure she would love to speak to your group.
~ Donna from Burien HSA~~~~~~
Thank you for your time yesterday evening. Your presentation on what we, as parents, can do to assist our children as they prepare to apply for universities was truly helpful to my family. Though my family has a college strategy, I wanted to attend your talk to hopefully find security that our plan is leading our sons in the directions they've requested. Not only did I find that reassurance in your words and demeanor, but I also came home with several gems of knowledge to make our family's journey more prolific when it reaches the formal education stage. Your support of fellow homeschooling families is greatly appreciated. Thank you, again.
